It's been long since I last wrote down something. Life has changed, changed a lot in more ways than one. Somebody told me recently that it is good to write something new and fresh so I thought of doing it. I must admit at the very beginning that I am a terrible writer!
So, today, I am going to pen down my understanding about personal and professional life. Origination of competition and existence in this big world.
In the last could of years, I have seen a completely new spectrum of life and existence. From being an MBA student to new full grown professional, I've seen it all. No wonder why people always complain about corporate life and social issues comes along with that. You become anti-social after a bit of time and always want to grow professionally. For me, I think, it is the other way around. I have become much more open about my social life and people as compared to what I had been during my MBA and before.
Always, we hear about work and life balance. Well, today I am not going to talk specifically about them as I think I am still not qualified to make a judgement. I am going to talk about aspirations and ambitions attached to that. For me, It is all about your drive and strive. As most of my friends know, I did not have fancy education and was neither a great student while schooling, before my MBA. If you are not a great student in your college, you never think about personal and professional life balance etc. All you care about is your existence after studies.
I often hear people saying that you get lesser friends as you grow older. I always wonder, Is it true? I think it is indeed, in some ways. When I look back I have had many 'good friends' but now most of them are not in touch with me. What is the reason, I ask to myself. The answer I always get is - Judgmental nature. Yes, as we grow older we become judgmental, very strongly. When we are in our teens, we don't care about society, fame, career, money etc. but once you complete your education, the race starts, and we become Judgmental.
Being Judgmental is not always wrong, but most of the time it is. Once we grow up we analyze friends on various factors and by each factor we tend to lose few friends. So as an iterative process by the end of this, we have only very few left, and that is how we have only a handful 'good' friends in life.
I am not saying that only we analyse friends, but being analysed by someone makes you feel hurt. For example, if you are good in your studies and don't get into a good college, you being tagged a non-performer. In college, same goes with placements. I think placement drive takes you friendship and turn the situation really bad. Placement in college time is where your friends turns your competitor for the first time. And, you have to complete with those who you have shared your best times with. If you succeed, you will definitely lose bond with few who couldn't make it and if you lose, same goes with you.
Why I am saying all this, because this perhaps is the first time you get a taste of personal and professional life. The first time you become competitive to your friends and that starts your way to move forward in the world. After college, It becomes more and more compelling to take chances and prove your worth and as we know and understand the meaning of existence, we grow more and more. In the whole process, we try and make the balance between our work and life.
However, if anyone is willing to have a successful social life, he or she must not complain. Always get ready for challenges in life, always keep your head high and always think ahead.
Everything comes to end one day - just remember this.
